Frequently Asked Questions...

How old does my baby have to be before starting a baby massage course?

The earlier the better. For example one of the mums came pregnant the first week and came with her baby the next!

Does the massage help my baby’s colic?

Yes it will help because massage helps to release muscles in spasm and so the wind can move on.

My baby has a little eczema will massaging help?

If the baby is not distressed by the eczema then massage will help as the oils, particularly jojoba oil (which is similar to human sebum), can help dry skin. Also massage is a way to relieve stress, which could contribute to eczema.

How often can I massage my baby?

That all depends on you and your baby. Some mums like to fit it into a bedtime routine once a day, others like to do a little massage at nappy changes. The massage sequence taught is a tool for you to use – how and when it suits your family.

Do I have to massage in a certain order?

No, the order is for easy learning.

Can I use this massage on my older children as well?

Most certainly, yes. During the course I show you how you can adapt the sequence to growing children and adults. It is definitely a tool for life.

When do I massage my baby?

Very young babies are best massaged for a short time when they are quiet and alert, neither hungry, nor asleep. For older babies it depends on the family routine. If a baby is feeling slightly unwell, he or she may say no to a massage – always ask their permission before going ahead!
